Bennett Jon

Travis and I had many discussions on baby's name. Once we found out it was a boy the discussions intensified and we started to narrow the list down. We shared the potential names with family and heard all of the opinions and none of the names were a fit. Then one day as I was driving, the name Bennett came to me. I told Travis, he loved it, it sounded great with Jon (which we knew would be the middle name after Travis and two of our grandfathers). So Bennett Jon finally had his name!

The details on Bennett:

Bennett \b(e)-nne-tt\ is pronounced BEN-et. It is of French and Latin origin. The normal medieval vernacular form of Benedict, used by both women and men in the past. Nowadays, used mostly as a transferred use of the surname from the medieval given name. Humorist Bennett Cerf; choreographer Michael Bennett; author William Bennett; aviation pioneer Floyd Bennett. Bennett has 4 variant forms: Benet, Benett, Bennet and Benoit. Baby names that sound like Bennett are Bennt and Bennito. Bennett is a somewhat common first name for men (#785 out of 1220) and an even more common last name for both men and women (#77 out of 88799).
