Playing with the big boys!

Travis plays basketball at the Y with some friends and guys from the neighborhood. One night we all went to the Y. I worked out and Trav and B played raquetball and basketball. When the guys started to arrive, I headed downstairs to get Bennett and we were going to head home. Good plan, right! Of course not, he wanted to join in on the game. So, he ended up playing his own game on the sidelines while the big boys played on the court!

Farm Days

Days at the Farm are are full of fun events! On the last day, the weather had warmed up about 30 degrees from where it was the week before. This week, Papa joined us at the farm, bringing back the memories of when I was at the farm as a toddler.
Here is Megan starting a fire with the wood that we collected last week.
Bennett and Papa checking out some tracks in the woods.
Bennett is feeding the sheep, those are his favories.
And then brought the horses water.

The it was on to pound some nails. If you asked me a couple weeks ago about Bennett using a hammer, I would have thought you were crazy. But he did a great job with it!
In the hay loft! It was quite the challenge getting him to climb up the ladder, but once he was up I was worried that we were never going to get him down. He loved it.
Jenny took this one of Bennett peeking out for the top of the hay loft.

Climbing on the playset! Of course, has to go across the top -- typical boy!
All the kids sitting around for the fire that Megan built.

Friends

On Friday night, we had Ethan and Maryn over to play. It was a great time for Bennett and showed me that I don't plan on having three children anytime soon. As I have always said, when the kids outnumber the parents... you are in trouble. The really did play well together and at the end of the night Travis and I both commented on how time just flew by! Only a couple of pictures... too busy chasing them around to get out the camera!

Heidi vs. Heather

Heather has a twin sister Heidi. Bennett has know Heidi since he was only a baby since she would watch her kids at Heather's house every Wednesday. Heidi has a daycare in her home as well and she has been a "back up" for Bennett since he started at Heather's. It is so nice to have somewhere to go if Heather is closed, sick or off for the day. Last Friday things were busy at work so I asked if Bennett could go back to Heidi's again, since Heather is closed. He had been there on Monday, Heather was off that day since the Superbowl was the night before and they are HUGE Packer fans. Bennett enjoyed Monday so much and kept asking about Heidi and going back to her house. So, Friday it was back to Heidi's and they had a great day. Lots of fun Valentine's activities and treats! So, when Monday rolled around what did Bennett have to say about going to Heather's... No she is closed. I want to go to Heidi's!

It is so great to know that he has two places to go where he is loved and taken care of and most importantly, where he loves to be!

Pride

Bennett got a lot of great Valentine's presents from his Tia Sue & Tio Don! He loves all of them (the candy slightly more then the clothes ;) but their is one thing he loves the MOST! The pictures of his cousins. The look on his face while he stares at them. The way that he moves the pictures around the room, or stops everything that he is doing to walk over and look at the pictures... Priceless! None of us can't wait until May arrives! It has been too long.

Climbing for the Cure!

This weekend I participated in the Climb for the Cure - a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis! I had done the climb last year so I kind of knew what to expect. But who really knows what to expect when you are climbing 50 flights of stairs!!! We had 56 climbers on our team and we raised over $7,000. Looking forward to 2012!

Another day at the Farm!

Bennett heading to the Farm School for his second day on 2.2.11.
He was in charge of feeding the kid goats and the sheep.
Bennett was telling me that the sheep were "talking" to him!
Bennett is getting ready to spin his wool on the loom with Jenny. The week before he had washed and cleaned the wool so it was ready to be spun.
Jenny helping Bennett spin the wool.
Bennett loves to build with the blocks. A supersized version of Jenga!
Out on a hike!
Sliding down the ice hill.
Leaving school after the second day!
