So, being that Atlanta and air travel were not in the cards for us over the holiday season, we are taking a quick getaway up north to Duluth! The bags are packed and in the car. The skis are loaded and Bennett can hardly stand the excitement! Hopefully it will be a great time for our family! I am still not sure if we are crazy going off to one of the coldest spots... as thought 6 degrees here in Hudson was not bad enough. And it looks like we will be home just in time for another BIG winter storm!

So, Bennett has an ear infection that sprung up on Monday during the day. When my mom picked him up Heather mentioned that his ear had been bothering him and he was kind of fussy and didn't eat very well. So, off to the doctor he and I went in the middle of a snow storm. We made it to the appointment and he had a nasty infection in his right ear. We were able to get a prescription and be on our way. I asked about traveling on the plane with him and the doctor said it would be a personal decision as to whether we went or not, but our departure was still 6 days away. Then Wednesday Bennett started to get more of a cold and cough which came on with a vengeance! Going into Friday we were about 50/50 of being able to go and then the snow moved into Atlanta and we knew that the flight might be less then desirable! That sealed the deal and we spent our Christmas at home in Hudson! Kind of a bummer, but probably for the best since Bennett is still complaining about his ear hurting. I took him into the doctor this evening again and she said that things are looking better, it is just the change in barometric pressure that is causing his ear to bother him. Hopefully this will be the last ear infection at our house for a LONG time!

But Christmas morning they were filled with all of B's favorite goodies and laying by the fireplace! Toothbrushes and paste, bubble bath, licorice and gum, colors and notepads! Oh, what a delightful find Bennett had when he came down stairs!

Bennett went to visit Santa with Nana & Papa and I think that this picture explains it all. He was not too sure about Santa or sitting on his lap. My parents said that he just looked ahead the whole time as if he did not look at Santa he would not be scared. I guess that he told Santa all of the items that he had on his Christmas list. I think that he has been pretty nice this year, so let's home that Santa is good to Bennett!

I thought this picture was more then fitting to talk about the phase in life that Bennett is currently at. Packed and ready to go... anywhere and everywhere. Ready for anything!
Lately, Bennett has been one busy boy. Between playing at Heather's, racquet ball at the YMCA, visits with Santa, Christmas traditions, skiing - sledding - shoveling and playing with Oliver he hardly has time to pack for his impending trip. To Atlanta that is! To visit all of his cousins and godmother/father! Oh, it is going to be a trip. The packing has yet to begin for our vacation, however it is looming on the calendar only a week away. So hopefully Bennett will get his favorite clothes, a couple of swimsuits and we will be off to the airport next Saturday! Can't wait... the whole family!

Bennett had his first big adventure skiing at Afton Alps on December 9th - the day before the blizzard! It was kind of a last minute thing to pack up and head down to Afton. And Bennett loved it! Like he was yelling and crying to go bigger - the hills, the chairlift and go by himself! He was not happy that he had to be wearing a harness that my dad or I held the ropes to. But, overall the night was a huge success. And quite the milestone. Skiing was always such a fun sport for me and in one year I skiied over 70 days. Last year, Travis and I only got out once. I am hoping that Bennett is going to make us go more! He has asked to go back everyday :)

Bennett is so lucky to have so many great toys! This is the newest from the Larson's for Christmas. A snowmobile sled that he absolutely loves! The first snow after he got it, we took it out into the backyard and he wanted to be pushed up the hill time after time. He squealed the whole way down! Thanks Troy & Marita!

The King of Kings church in Woodbury holds and annual fundraiser with a light display at Lake Phalen each year. This year we headed over and were impressed with the display. Bennett loved all of the lights and watching Santa golf, the horses on the merry go round and the pirate shooting out of the canon on the pirate ship! It was a great time supporting lots of great charities!

Natalie turned three on December 1st and we were lucky enough to be able to celebrate with her at her party! Bennett enjoyed the cupcakes, presents and friends. They had lots of fun playing with Natalie's new loot!
