Kissy, Kissy!

Bennett loves to give slobbery kisses on your body that make the annoying sounds! It is so cute to watch him do it, but then at the end you realize that you are covered in spit. Tonight as we were waiting for Travis to get home, this was his (and my entertainment).

He's got skills!

As I mentioned in my last post, Bennett has been learning so many new words. He also had a lot of new skills!

Words that Bennett can say: Hi, Bye, Mama, Daddy, Nana, Papa, grandma, Sam, Bret, Matt, Elleny, Heather, Reece, Cress, Talen, Tim, Mark... just to name a few names. Ball, basketball, cup, spoon, fork, pizza, table, chair, golf, hole, car, truck, stop, go, yes, no, milk, juice, cheese, bow-wow, bark, up, down, phone, purse, hair, brush, comb, wet, bath, bubbles, hot, cold, pee, poop, ear, water, tummy, button, foot, sock, shoe... I could keep going.

Sports - Bennett LOVES sports and is really good at many of the things that he does. Basketball, Baseball, Golfing & hockey are a few of the games of choice.

Baking - Bennett has helped me several times making different treats - muffins are his favorite!

Stacking - He is an expert in stacking. All thanks to Jenga.

Driving - We have allowed Bennett to drive the car in the driveway. He does a great job and is even able to steer (almost in the right direction).

Go get it - Bennett is more then happy to go and get something to fulfill your request. If I ask him to get the phone for me, he walks over, picks it up and hands it to me.

Weeding - Tonight, we were outside and I was pulling the weeds in the mulch. Bennett proceeded to help me out and then grab his shovel, to help shovel the mulch.

Shut door - Bennett insists on shutting the car doors. When we walk away from the car, he always shuts all of the car doors for me.

Vacuum - Bennett loves to help me vacuum. He either vacuums with his vacuum or holds the hose for me to help out.

Garbage - You can hand Bennett something that is garbage and he makes sure to go and take it to the garbage can and throw it away.

Overall, Bennett is learning all of the little things that we do on a daily basis! He is such a good helper!

Books Galore

Bennett in his "Reading" chair!
With his pop up plane book.

So serious!
Not any more...

Bennett's speech has increased 10 fold over the past two weeks. He is now talking like crazy. He puts words together in short sentences. Baby read book. Mama is tired. Taren play basketball. Bow - wow bark. Daddy play beeball. He surprises us with new words everyday. We all work with him on his words, sounds, numbers and colors and you sure can tell that it is paying off.

Outside

Today was NOT a nice night. Normally Bennett and Nana play outside when they get home from Heather's. Tonight the weather was overcast and misting which turned into a full on shower. So, we were not able to play outside with the exception of B and daddy playing hockey in the garage for a few minutes. So, just a couple of pictures from previous days of playing outside...

More Phish

Today was my second mother's day and we had a fun filled day with family! This morning we slept in and got ready to go over to the Mall of America. We played a little around the house and left around 1:00. We wanted to wait for the 50,000 plus people to leave the MOA after the Race for the Cure. We got there and were pleased to find the mall dead. It was so great, we walked around all three floors of the mall and then headed to Underwater Adventures. Bennett was so excited to see all of the "phish!" Everywhere he turned they had more fish and he was crazy about all of them. He loved the turtles, sting rays and sharks as well. We worked on saying several new words as well, though Turtle was the only other one that was successful!

After we left the MOA, we headed over to the airport and caught the 3:30 takeoff of the 747 to Toyko. Travis used to see this plane take off everyday when he worked a VK and today we finally saw it take off from the airport. Awesome sight to see. We are hoping that all of this exposure to the planes will get B excited for his flight at the end of the month to Atlanta.
To end the night, we headed to Champps for dinner and ended the night with ice cream at Dairy Queen with Nana and Papa. Great ending to a great Mother's Day!

Look at what I see mommy!

Turtles!
Watching the shark swim over us!
The stingray.
Now that is a BIG turtle.
I touch!

Checking out the jellyfish.

Family

Today we spent the afternoon with Travis' family. It was fun to see Bennett play with Bret, Sam and Val. They had a good time and Bennett LOVES to be the center of attention - as always! He showed everyone how he plays Jenga, basketball, baseball, cars and how he bounces. He also ate great for his lunch and enjoyed a cookie after his meal. When we were ready to leave, I told Bennett to give Bret, Sam and Val each a hug. He went up to each of them and gave a hug and a kiss - priceless!
