Boat Show
Chris & Travis took the boys to the boat show last weekend. From what I hear it was a great day and the pictures seem to reinforce that! That left some free time for me, which is always appreciated!

Children's Farm 1st Day of Preschool

Bennett's first day of preschool at the Farm and boy did he love it! It was challenging and fun. He explored, tested his limits and already learned about being independent. He is going to take so many great things away from this class! I am looking forward to spending the next 14 weeks learning with him and enjoying all that the farm has to offer. Just a few pictures from this week. I was too busy chasing him around to get very many pictures!

Sleep
After the last post, I got to thinking about sleep in our house. For the past two months we were having, what one might call "sleeping issues." Well, really the only sleeping issue was where Bennett wanted to sleep. IN BED WITH US! ONLY. ALWAYS. He wanted nothing to do with his bed. Nothing to do with the floor next to our bed. It was only our bed and normally he would take up the majority of the bed leaving the edges for Travis and I! Meaning that we were getting kicked and hit, punched and rolled on every night! While the first few nights it was nice having him laying by us, we quickly realized that we were running down a tricky road and we were about at the point of no return. That last for about two months when Travis and I decided that we needed to BREAK THE HABIT! Knowing that was not going to be easy, we decided on a Saturday night that Bennett was going to sleep in his own bed. Come hell or high water, it was going to be. Travis worked with Bennett for about 2 1/2 hours and finally got him to sleep in his own bed. And so the story ends! Our little guy is just that good. With the exception of a few nights of asking to sleep with us or waking up when the sun is rising and coming in to our room he is back in his own bed! And all at the Schneider house are resting peacefully once again!
Not to mention, Travis and I are pretty proud of ourselves!!!

Turkey's
The turkey's are crazy at my parents house. Every afternoon Bennett heads out to the backyard with Papa to feed the turkeys. And boy do they come running when they head Bennett walking out with the bucket!

Finally...
Ever since Bennett was born Nana has always mentioned a leash. She actually bought one when he was just learning to walk and I shunned her for it! A leash is for a dog, not a toddler - I teased her! She finally got her wish...

Skiing at Spirit Mountain
Since we were not able to make it to Atlanta we headed up north to Duluth and went skiing at Spirit Mountain. This is a shot on the first run that we took. Papa did not hear Travis say, stay left. So, our first run was a blue - long and narrow which took us all the way down to the bottom where we rode up on the high speed quad. It was quite the start but Bennett did awesome! He really is a natural on his skis! So many fun years to come and enjoy on the hills of Minnesota and hopefully the mountains of Colorado, Utah and beyond!

Oh, the anticipation
Since I am so behind on updating the blog, I am still sharing pictures from before and during the holidays. Bennett got an early Christmas present from Nana and Papa before the holiday. It was something that Papa had as a child and thought that Bennett would love his very own! Waiting for the surprise as Papa is bringing it in.
The hockey game has already given so many hours of fun and playtime!

Go Badgers!
We went to the Lownsbury's to watch the Badger's play in the Rosebowl. Unfortunately, the Badgers lost to TCU, but the boys sure had fun playing together. Bennett would not cooperate for anything to get a good picture!

We welcomed 2011 (almost) in style last night. Nana and Papa spent the night with Bennett and Travis and I went out on the town with Jason, Karissa and Stacy (karissa's sister in law). We went to dinner at Mama Maria's and visited a couple of local bars, finally ending the night at Pier 500. 11:40 rolled around and we headed home just before the clock struck midnight. Ringing in 2011 with a bang and looking forward to all of the great things in store for the Schneider Family.
January - Bennett starts preschool at the Children's Farm
February - Travis turns 31
March - Bennett and I are headed to Orlando for a work convention - and some time spent at Disney
May - Hopefully brings a trip to Atlanta and Bennett turns three
June - Summer fun and all of the activities that we love to do
July - Annual Heritage Greens 4th of July celebration
August - Bret & Val get married!
September - Travis and I celebrate 5 years of marriage
October - Halloween and tons of costumed fun!
December - The holidays and all of the fun that surround them with Bennett and the close of another year!
